Not a lot of figures in the footballing community go between fierce North London rivals Arsenal and Tottenham, but today’s media indicate that a leading scout may well be set to do just that.
The Daily Express have stated that the Gunners have agreed a deal to bring Ian Broomfield to the Emirates Stadium from QPR.
The talent spotter was part of Harry Redknapp’s staff at both Portsmouth and Tottenham, and is adjudged as having a great eye for potential in young players.
Broomfield is charged with facilitating a number of Tottenham’s recent transfer dealings through his scouting recommendations.
The scout played a role in both Jan Vertonghen and Hugo Lloris ending up at White Hart Lane.
However, there is yet to be a confirmation from either Arsenal or QPR in regards to Broomfield’s future.
