It's good to take stock of things at the end of a month. On this occasion, that means reviewing the Premier League in all its glory for the last few weeks.
And the findings are pretty interesting, as an alternative league table based on the last six games shows. Indeed, things at the top are a lot different than you might think - though at the bottom it's much more predictable.
Perhaps the most fascinating change is that West Ham, 10th in the Premier League proper, would be as high as third based on the club's performances in recent weeks. Sam Allardyce's men have been in splendid form, but even West Ham's Big Sam probably wouldn't dream of his side being third in any table.
Wesy Ham have won their last four games, and are unbeaten in five. They have amassed just one fewer point than Liverpool and Chelsea in that time - who are the top two sides in the division on current form.
It is Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool team, however, who are top on current form, with the goals absolutely flying in in recent matches - although it's less surprising given that the Reds are only four points off top overall.
Another point of interest is that Arsenal would be fifth based on the last six Premier League games - residing outside of the top four - having won just three in six. Only two places further down are Sunderland, who are 18th overall.
And it's a similar case with Manchester United and Crystal Palace, with Manchester United sitting in 10th based on current form (and sixth overall) and Palace one place above them in ninth (16th overall).
At the bottom, things are more in line with expectations, with Fulham bottom and Cardiff 19th. The only difference is that West Brom also join them in the drop zone, while Aston Villa and Stoke sit just above them.
Everton provide one final surprise as they sit in 15th in current form, after losing three of their last four Premier League matches.
West Ham fans, though, will take huge comfort for their team's performance in recent weeks, and will no doubt think that Premier League football next season is almost a certainty now.
Are you surprised by the standings based on the last six games ?
