Liverpool fans react on Twitter to Suarez performance: 'He has to be in the top five in the world'

Liverpool took another stride towards a possible Premier League title with a win against Southampton, with Luis Suarez again starring for the Reds.

Liverpool are now second in the Premier League just four points behind leaders Chelsea with ten games to play, and if anyone still wants to argue they are not title contenders, they will soon be outshouted.

The Reds' 3-0 victory against Southampton on Saturday evening saw them take full advantage of Arsenal's slip up against Stoke City and Manchester City's League Cup responsibilities, and at the heart of it - as always - was Luis Suarez.

The mercurial Uruguayan scored the first, set up the second and was felled for the third (a penalty scored by Steven Gerrard).  In short, he was at the heart of Liverpool's attacking intent and in this form he could just fire them to the trophy.

Suarez had four shots (two of which were on target), he also played two key passes and had a pass-completion rate of 68%.  He touched the ball 63 times and played 26 accurate passes in total.

If Liverpool do go on to claim the league title, Suarez will have played a bigger role than most.  And after the game the praise for his latest performance was in a sense a microcosm for his entire campaign.
