Philippe Coutinho is just one of many Liverpool players in the midst of an outstanding season.
While Brendan Rodgers may be playing down their chances, the simple fact is the Reds have a very good chance of winning the Premier League title this season, with a side enjoying an outstanding run of form and possessing some of the league’s biggest talents.
In an interview with the club’s official website, Coutinho has revealed just what he thinks of teammate Steven Gerrard, and praised Liverpool’s supporters.
When asked if he and Gerrard ever discussed passing techniques, with both excelling in that particular area, the Brazilian said, “Not much actually. As I always say, I try to observe him in training, his playing style.
“He’s phenomenal, and the way he connects with the ball is impressive.”
Coutinho will be hoping to earn a place in this summer’s World Cup squad in his homeland, but that will be easier said than done given the competition.
But for now he will simply keep doing what he has been doing so well, and hope for the best.
At worst he will conclude an impressive season at Anfield with plenty of plaudits and at best with a trophy and a trip back to Brazil.
But he will have the adoration of the Liverpool fans regardless, which is something he takes great pride in.
“Those matches against Arsenal and Everton were really impressive,” he said. “The supporters were also spectacular. I’ve never seen something like that. I feel very happy for having been part of this moment.”
And hopefully, both for Coutinho and for Liverpool, there will be plenty more such moments to come.
