Arsenal morning news: 'I love Arsenal' says Sagna as Podolski has message for Stoke

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.

Arsenal right-back Bacary Sagna has given the biggest hint yet that he does not plan on leaving the club this summer.

He was speaking to John Cross of The Mirror about all things Arsenal - and had this to say about his future:

“I love Arsenal, I love playing for Arsenal, I love my team. Arsenal is the most followed team in France and I remember I used to watch them when I was in France so it was a pleasure to play for them, so why leave?”

His contract expires in the summer and he has been consistently linked with a move away from the club - however that no longer seems to be his prerogative.

However the club and player are still some way from agreeing on the terms of the new deal.

The talk of Alvaro Morata becoming an Arsenal player next season is going nowhere fast. The rangy Real Madrid forward is reportedly happy to join Arsenal - and the clubs would need to only agree a fee for a deal to go ahead.

It is reported that Wenger is a huge fan of the young Spaniard - and is willing to spend up to £15 million in order to get his man.

Morata would prefer a Madrid stay, but with first-team opportunities limited, is happy to consider an exit.

Arsenal take on Stoke this afternoon and it looks increasingly as if Thomas Vermaelen will be starting at left-back against The Potters.

The Gunners have injury concerns over Nacho Monreal and Kieran Gibbs - and both missed training yesterday.

One player clearly ready for the game is Lukas Podolski.

He had this message for Stoke ahead of the game today - and will hope to start the fixture after his recent good form:
