'10 cup finals' - Liverpool star Sturridge fuels title talk on Twitter

Daniel Sturridge believes Liverpool can win the league - after they disposed of Southampton this afternoon.

The scoreline suggests otherwise - but Liverpool were pushed all the way this evening in a 3-0 win against Southampton at St Marys.

The Saints had large spells of possession and plenty of chances in the game - but defensive lapses from Jose Fonte and Dejan Lovren gifted Liverpool goals courtesy of Luis Suarez, Raheem Sterling and Steven Gerrard (pen).

But Liverpool got the result - and are now serious contenders for the Premier League title.

Brendan Rodgers’ side now sit second in the table - just four points behind Chelsea with ten games left in the season and Liverpool fans are beginning to believe this might be their year.

Unbeaten in the league since 2013 they are now in with a realistic chance of winning their first ever Premier League title - and first League title since 1990.

Their run-in still has some difficult games.

Tottenham visit Anfield - as do Manchester City and Chelsea - while their next Premier League game is at Old Trafford against the old foe Manchester United.

So they know they must be at their best week in and week out in order to be crowned champions - and Daniel Sturridge is one player ready to go all the way.

He had a quiet game today - but has been a massive part of their exceptional season so far.

And he has Tweeted his belief that the club face ’10 cup finals’ from now until the end of the season if they want to win the Premier League.

And you know what - they might just do it.
