Minecraft movie in works at Warner Bros, according to leak.

Notch complains: “I wanted to be leak”; Sandbox title could be given the Lego treatment.

Gaming sensation Minecraft could soon be hitting the big screen as a leak has revealed a live-action adaptation in the works at Warner Bros.

Perhaps spurred on by the box office success of the Lego movie, the film rights to Mojan’s sandbox success story have been snapped up with Deadline reporting that there is “great interest” from writers and filmmakers.

Among those who will be making the adaptation is Roy Lee, the producer behind The Lego Movie.

The game’s creator, Markus “notch” Persson responded to the leak in characteristically good humour.

“Someone is trying leak the fact that we're working with Warner Brothers on a potential Minecraft Movie. I wanted to be the leak!” he Twittered.
