It is every young boys dream to play for his country - and Luke Shaw demonstrated that today. The teenager has been tipped for a place in the England squad for over a year now - and his time has now come.
Roy Hodgson has included him in his squad for the upcoming friendly match against Denmark in December and will be hoping he can show he is the future of England’s left-back position after the call-up.
Southampton now have a whopping four players in the England squad - with Shaw joining Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert and Jay Rodriguez in the side.
So The Saints certainly have gotten used to seeing their players names announced by Hdgson in recent times.
So they were prepared.
They had the cameras ready at the training ground today as they took it upon themselves to document the big moments of Luke Shaw’s day - from accepting the call from Roy, to telling friends and family and the gaffer Mauricio Pochettino - who gave him a big Latin embrace upon hearing the news.
