A selection of the latest news involving Liverpool Football Club this Thursday morning.
The Mirror reports that the striker – who is currently on loan at Ajax – has been watched by scouts from the club last Thursday where the Dutch side surprisingly lost to Salzburg. The 23-year-old was said to be valued at around £35m a few years ago.
The striker has admitted that any permanent move to Ajax remains up in the air as he was quoted, saying: “We’ll see about my future, there are still two months of the season to go before any decisions have to be made.”
Manager Brendan Rodgers opted for Simon Mignolet ahead of the Spaniard at the start of the season, and ahead of Napoli’s Europa League tie with Swansea, Reina said:
“I need to go back to Liverpool at the end of my loan and I will make my decision there.
“My future does not depend on our results this season.”
Suarez said: “He didn’t talk about me, or through me, in the press, but in person. In those moments I forgot that he was ‘world football great Gerrard’, a Liverpool legend but as a humble person who spoke to me with all his heart for hours.
“He said I was the best forward he’d ever played with, which given the amazing strikers that he’s played with at Liverpool, was amazing for me to hear. I’ll never forget that.”
The game will take place between a team of local Liverpool legends managed by Kenny Dalglish against a team of international Liverpool legends managed by Gerard Houllier.
