Chelsea morning news: Fresh competition in the race for £22m defender?

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

Manchester City have reportedly entered the race to sign Southampton left-back Luke Shaw.

Shaw has been strongly linked with a move to the Blues as well as with a switch to Premier League champions Manchester United.

United even tried to attract the defender last month, who is rated at around the £22 million mark according to reports.

Jose Mourinho has urged Chelsea fans to create an intimidating atmosphere in the Champions League second leg against Galatasaray.

The Turkish side’s home support during the 1-1 draw were very loud last night, which helped to create a vibrant and intimidating atmosphere for the game.

“If Stamford Bridge can give 10 per cent of what this public gives then that would be fantastic for us,” said Mourinho after the match.

Mourinho has also admitted that he would be happy to go back to Inter Milan if he’s ever axed from his position at Chelsea.

Mourinho won the Champions League with the Serie A giants, which is something he’s previously called his favourite trophy win.

“That day I could go back to Italy and it's normal for me to think about Inter. But only Inter, not another Italian club,” said the boss.
