Schalke manager Jens Keller has identified the 'second best' club behind Bayern, and it's another club who want to sign Julian Draxler, but not Arsenal.
Manager of FC Schalke Jens Keller has picked out the two best clubs in world football - and they are both teams linked with signing star player Julian Draxler.
The German international hopes to line up against Real Madrid tonight in the Champions League, who Keller rates as only second to Bayern Munich on current form.
He stated: "After Bayern, at this time Real Madrid is perhaps the second best team in the world.
"They have great players in all roles, it will not be at all easy for us. Ourselves playing at home, we will show courage without hiding in front of Real. We will give everyone at least 100% if we succeed, then we may witness a little miracle."
Draxler is no guarantee to start, coming back from an injury sustained in January - he played half an hour against Mainz as a substitute on Friday night but his full match fitness is uncertain, and with Leon Goretzka stepping up of late, there's less pressure on Schalke to start the much touted star.
The teenager discussed his future yesterday, saying that he could not rule out a deal even to Bayern, given former teammate Manuel Neuer once dismissed doing the same only to join the Bavarian giants.
Now it's up to Draxler to show why he is worth the money, and Real Madrid themselves have been linked with a bid in recent days, with the Mail writing they are considering a summer bid.
Draxler has until now and the end of the season to show why he is worth £37 million, the figure of his release clause, and then make a tough decision. If he takes his coach's comments into account, then it will be Bayern or Real Madrid who should figure highest on his list of destinations.
