Larnell Cole, the second player who joined Fulham on deadline day, has been sent out on loan by the West London club.
Cole (19) was snapped up by the Craven Cottage side last month after some impressive performances for the Manchester United youth teams but he, along with Ryan Tunnicliffe (21), has been told he can head out on loan by new Fulham boss Felix Magath.
While Tunnicliffe’s potential loan move to Wigan or Ipswich Town is still in the negotiation stage, Cole will link up with the MK Dons in League One as Karl Robinson’s men look to secure a play-off place.
It’s a blow for both youngsters who would have been hoping to fast track their Premier League careers with transfers to Fulham but it’s not the end of the world and there are positives. Both players stand a good chance of gaining a lot of first team experience with other sides over the rest of the season.
Despite Magath’s reputation over how he rules with an iron fist, he’s a fair manager and the decision to release both youngsters to play for other sides is based on logic and common sense.
It’s now up to Tunnicliffe and Cole to prove that they can be key components in Magath’s Fulham side ahead of next season.
