‘Young and Valencia have not been good enough; United look ordinary’ says former player

Former Manchester United player Roy Keane has given a scathing assessment of their first half performance this evening.

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Roy Keane has been talking about his former club’s first-half performance against Olympiakos in the last-16 of the Champions League.

Speaking as a pundit on ITV, Keane said what he had seen was “very poor from United’s point of view”.

United just haven’t got going,” he added. “They’ve been slow, they’ve been sloppy, a lot of stray passes. We spoke about Valencia and Young having a big influence and they’ve just not been good enough.

“Out of possession they’ve not been aggressive enough. It’s almost like they’ve been playing like it’s a friendly match or they’re thinking ‘We’ll get through tonight and we’ll win it at Old Trafford’ and that’s a dangerous game to play.

“Young and Valencia haven’t done enough; very predictable and very unlike United. They look very ordinary.”

United went in 1-0 down at half-time, after Alejandro Dominguez cleverly deflected a shot past the helpless David de Gea.
