'No words' - United legend Schmeichel suggests tears after Olympiakos defeat

Peter Schmeichel was apparently devastated at his beloved Manchester United side's defeat to Olympiakos in the Champions League.

The lowest ebb of the David Moyes era at Manchester United?

It might have been tonight against Olympiakos.

United perhaps came into this game with a sense of false-confidence. But rightly so. The football hipster will claim Olympiakos are under-rated, really good and at home we should not be surprised.

But United should have done much better than what they put on display tonight.

Flat, unengaging, vapid - simply poor.

The Greek side played well, give them their credit, but the players let David Moyes down this evening - although his draconian tactics did not help - as Olympiakos found space aplenty across the field.

For some of the United old guard this performance and result is simply shocking - and absolutely unacceptable.

One such player is Peter Schmeichel.

One of the iconic images of Sir Alex Ferguson's reign was the great Dane going topsy-turvy after United won the Champions League against Bayern Munich - and in his 393 appearances for United we doubt many of them actually reduced him to tears.

But according to his reactive Tweet after full-time in Piraeus that is exactly what he said it had done to him.
