Arsenal have reportedly taken the 17-year-old on trial.
Caniggia Ginola Elva is not a name you will hear every day. But that could change in the future after the 17-year-old St Lucian-born Canadian national was reportedly given a trial by Arsenal.
The Daily Cannon reports that the player has previously had trials with three German sides - FC Stuttgart, Schalke and Hoffenheim - but has now travelled to North London as he attempts to impress Arsene Wenger.
The forward currently plays for Canadian side Calgary Southwest United - and their official Twitter account posted a message confirming the teenager was on his way to England in a tweet last week.
OH MY - SWU Striker Caniggia Elva off to London,England Monday for trial with Arsenal FC!!! Thanks to all who helped him get there!!!— CSWU Soccer Club (@CSWUSoccerClub) February 20, 2014
Having so far failed to get a permanent deal from the other clubs with whom he has enjoyed trials, it will be interesting to see if Elva can do enough to secure an agreement with the Gunners.
