6 goals in 6 games - Nigerian sensation looking to KO Manchester United

Nigeria Fan Celebrates AFCON

Olympiakos have been shorn of two big goal threats, but Manchester United need to take Michael Olaitan seriously.

Olympiakos have seen scorers of more than 40 goals for them this season ruled out of their tie with Manchester United, but hope is not lost.

Firstly Konstantinos Mitroglou was sold on deadline day to Fulham, scorer of 17 goals this season, while 24-goal Javier Saviola was injured at the weekend and will miss the home leg against the Red Devils.

Nelson Valdez and Joel Campbell will look to pick up in their place, but the responsibility is being shouldered largely by exciting Nigerian striker Michael Olaitan.

The 21-year-old has really stepped up since Mitroglou's sale, netting 6 goals in 6 games since January 18. He has 11 this season in total, so his recent form has been very welcome for the Greek side.

Olaitan wears the club's number 99 shirt, and can player as a left-winger and a centre-forward, alternating in each, but with Saviola's injury his chances of leading the line against United have been enhanced.

He is yet to win a senior international cap for Nigeria, playing at last summer's under-20 World Cup where he came up against Manchester United signing Guillermo Varela when they faced Uruguay.

A big performance against the Red Devils on Tuesday night would catapult him into the reckoning for Nigeria's World Cup squad for this summer's tournament.

For a player signed on a free transfer by Olympiakos two seasons ago, he is looking like a real bargain, with five assists to his name alongside his 11 goals.

Ahead of the fixture he is saying all of the right comments, telling Gazzetta.gr "If you do not believe in the dream, then you better not play I say generally and if you do not believe this, then you better not get off the field,”

“We will do everything to oppose this huge team called Manchester United. Whether we qualify or not is not to prejudge anyone. What we can anticipate is that we will fight! If we fight, we hope to do something great.”
