Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Capoue to have scan, Spurs in the race for 21 goals in 24 games striker?

A round up of this morning’s news stories about Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham midfielder Etienne Capoue will have a scan on a leg injury later today.

The holding midfielder was taken off during yesterday’s defeat at Norwich City after struggling through a period of the first half.

Capoue is almost certain to miss the Europa League second leg against Dnipro later this week.

The Daily Mail has claimed that Tottenham are ready to enter the race for Atletico Madrid superstar Diego Costa.

The £32 million rated front man has been strongly linked with moves to Chelsea and Arsenal.

However, the Mail reports that Time Sherwood is apparently keen on the striker and could urge the club to make a big money bid for him.

Sherwood has insisted that the clubs hopes of securing Champions League football by the end of the season are not over.

Spurs suffered another setback over the weekend as they were beaten 1-0 away at Norwich City.

“It’s a dent, we’re still in it. We’re still looking up rather than behind. We’ve got two home games now and we need to bounce back – that’s what good teams do,” he told Sky Sports.
