The Bosnian striker failed to round off a team move, somehow missing an open-goal chance from two yards.
After being beaten 2-0 at home by Barcelona in the Champions League in midweek, Manchester City got back to winning ways on Saturday.
The Premier League title chasers were unconvincing in their 1-0 victory over Stoke, with Yaya Toure scoring the only goal of the game.
However, the hosts really should have hit the back of Stoke’s net on a second occasion, when Edin Dzeko had a guilt-edged chance to score in the 73rd minute.
However, quite unbelievably, the Bosnian striker failed to convert this chance from point-blank range.
Manuel Pellegrini will not see the funny side of the attacker’s miss, with competition for places in City’s attack.
Sergio Aguero is on the comeback trial, while Alvaro Negredo and Stevan Jovetic are also vying for a place in the starting XI.
