The transfer window so often fails to live up to our over-inflated expectations. But there are always those moves that come out of nowhere. And none were more leftfield than that which saw Adel Taarabt swap Queens Park Rangers for AC Milan on loan.
The former Fulham man scored on his debut for his new side, in a 3-1 defeat to Napoli. And he found the net again this weekend, scoring the first in a 2-0 victory away to Sampdoria.
Taarabt has always been something of a footballing conundrum. There is no doubt he possesses talent in abundance, but he has failed to consistently perform at the highest level…at least until now.
Could his loan move to Serie A be the making of him? After all, he is still only 24 and has years ahead of him in the game.
For the rest of this season, Milan will be hoping Taarabt simply keeps doing what he has been so far. And then…they may just see about keeping him.
