The British tabloids are today suggesting that David Moyes’ men have agreed a deal to bring Ilkay Gundogan to Old Trafford this summer.
Manchester United’s summer will be consumed with pushing for new players to reinvigorate David Moyes’ squad, after a poor season this term.
The Old Trafford outfit are in dire need of a midfield creator, with countless international stars linked with a switch to the current Premier League champions.
However, if the Sunday Star and Sunday People are to be believed, United have concluded a deal for Ilkay Gundogan.
The Borussia Dortmund midfielder’s contract at Signal Iduna Park expires in 2015, with rumours that Real Madrid and the Red Devils are ready to go toe-to-toe for the Germany international.
The Sunday Star claim that United will shell out a cool £25 million to land the talented playmaker, while the Sunday People state that the fee will be in the £32 million range.
Gundogan has struggled for fitness this season, but will look to return to action ahead of the summer’s World Cup.
Dortmund are in a tricky situation that they could face losing the star on a free transfer next summer, and as such have a decision to make regarding his future at the end of the season.
These reports carry little to no credence, but should Gundogan become availalbe this summer, United would surely be one of the main suitors to capture the playmaker.
