Cardiff newbie on Twitter: 5 wins needed to stay in Premier League

Juan 'Cala' Torres was Tweeting after Cardiff lost 4-0 at home to Hull City.

The boos were loud, the feeling inside the Cardiff City Stadium insidious, as they were monumentally thrashed by Hull City - a side they outdid in the Championship last term - at home.

It has been a tumultuous season for Cardiff fans - with their owner Vincent Tan perhaps the least popular man in the Welsh capital at the moment.

His decision to sack Malky Mackay earlier in the campaign was greeted with widespread condemnation - and new boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer seems to have carried his indifferent third season form at Molde with him to South Wales.

Hull’s 4-0 win came courtesy of excellent new signings - and one of Cardiff’s now knows what they need to do.

With 27 games gone they are currently second from bottom on 22 points and looking in real danger of an immediate return to the Football League.

With 11 games left - one player feels that the club needs five more wins to stay up. Cardiff snapped up Juan ‘Cala’ Torres on the 7th February on a free transfer after he terminated his deal with Sevilla - and the former AEK Athens player made his Premier League debut for the club yesterday - one he will want to forget.

And he Tweeted after the game …

15 more points would leave them on 37 points - not usually enough for a team to survive the drop from the Premier League and looking at their current form and run-in it is difficult to see where exactly those points are coming from.

Cala might stay next season, but he might be doing so for a Championship team.
