Schalke 04 have a very talented playmaker who is the envy of top teams continent wide - and no we are not talking about Julian Draxler.
Instead we are talking about his younger pretender Max Meyer.
The 18-year-old attacker is now a regular in the Gelsenkirchen - and he was rewarded for his development with a new deal in December.
He signed a new three-and-a-half year and at the time stated:
"I am very happy about this new contract because I really like being at Schalke," he told the club's website. In addition there have been two important things for me: The club is putting trust in home-grown talents and it gives me the opportunity to play regularly in Europe even at this point of my development."
But despite this new deal he is still being mentioned in passing with Premier League teams.
And he was speaking about his future again this week - as he hinted a potential move is never off the cards.
He told German publication Bild this weekend:
“I will not stay for life at Schalke. I have extended my contract until 2018 and I feel very comfortable here. What happens in the future - I do not know."
That contract has a reported release clause in the region of €25.5 million - so his most recent comments might have just got tongues wagging at interested parties.
However this seems more a mention of a desire to move on one day - not this summer.
With Draxler expected to leave Meyer will be lined up as his replacement and therefore even more first-team football is around the corner for the talented playmaker.
One day we might just see Meyer in the Premier League, but for now, it seems unlikely this summer.
