'No time to rest' - Podolski ready to make Arsenal fans 'happy'

Lukas Podolski is fired up for this afternoon's game against Sunderland.

Arsenal have had something of a good filler bad bread time recently - with defeats to Liverpool and Bayern Munich either side of an FA Cup victory against Liverpool and a draw against Manchester United.

They face something of a lighter challenge today in the form of Sunderland at home - but must of course not be complacent ahead of the game.

Arsene Wenger has some tough decisions to make ahead of the game - whether to bring in Olivier Giroud, who plays in midfield and one that he seems to have already made - with Mesut Ozil reportedly told to stay at home for this game.

The other player he has a decision to make over is Lukas Podolski. He has performed well since returning from an earlier thigh injury - and there are reports in the press today that Arsenal’s players want to see more of the German international in action then has so far been the case.

Even one former player made this abundantly clear on Twitter this week - Emmanuel Frimpong getting at Wenger for not playing Podolski against Bayern.

There are rumours he could start today - coming in to replace the rested Mesut Ozil on the left hand side of the three pronged attacking midfield.

And if he does start he will certainly be up for the game.

He has posted a pre-game Tweet that certainly suggests he is pretty pumped up…
