In fact, only one Liverpool player made his top five, with Southampton players occupying the top two positions.
Jamie Carragher has revealed the man he thinks is the best penalty taker in football - and it's not Steven Gerrard or Robbie Fowler.
Indeed, the 36-year-old ex-Liverpool man has only gone for one Red in his top five - Jan Molby, who has the third-best penalty conversion rate of any Liverpool player.
And Carragher's no.1 and no.2 have both come from Southampton, with one of them still playing in the Premier League.
No.2 is Matt Le Tissier - but edging him out at top spot is Rickie Lambert.
"Matt Le Tissier — If only he had gone to a major tournament with England, maybe we wouldn’t have suffered so many shootout defeats. He never gave the goalkeeper a chance from 12 yards and his statistics of 48 out of 49 stands up to the closest scrutiny.
"It is assumed that Le Tissier is the greatest penalty taker to play for Southampton but Lambert’s record of 32 successful kicks in a row puts him into first place. It’s an incredible record."
According to the ex-Liverpool defender, you could "put your mortgage" on both to slot their spot-kick away every time. And his point about Le Tissier might still have resonance this summer in Brazil.
If England have such problems with penalty shootouts, why not take Lambert along and bring him on during extra time? It could be the difference between another knockout disappointment and a rare World Cup success story.
Is Lambert the best penalty taker around?
