Arsenal fan Piers Morgan has launched another high profile attack on Gunners boss Arsene Wenger in the fallout of the first leg Champions League defeat to Bayern Munich.
The North Londoners find themselves trailing the German and European champions by two goals heading into the second leg, creating a carbon copy of the situation they were faced with last season.
Several reasons have been debated and discussed as contributing towards the defeat but in Morgan’s eyes the blame falls squarely at the feet of the manager.
The person to blame for last night is the manager who didn't strengthen the squad in January: Arsene '8yrs without a trophy' Wenger. #afc— Piers Morgan (@piersmorgan) February 20, 2014
The issue Morgan has is the fact Arsenal didn’t sign a high profile striker last month, something he scathed about at the time, which led to Yaya Sanogo starting against Bayern with Olivier Giroud confined to the bench.
He’s clearly very frustrated but Arsenal still have a chance of pulling off a win and can take confidence from how they played at the Allianz last season and how they performed at Borussia Dortmund earlier this season.
The striker situation will more than likely be addressed in the summer but there’s only one person Morgan is gunning for if Arsenal go trophyless for another season come the end of May.
