A round up of the latest news and transfer stories about Liverpool from the past 24 hours.

Brendan Rodgers says his side are focused on maintaining their positive home record so far this season as Liverpool prepare to take on his former side Swansea City.

“It’s something we’ve been building towards and need to continue our work. We just need to go in with the same approach, that same energy and commitment in games,” said the boss.

Rodgers also give fitness updates on Glen Johnson, Lucas, Mamadou Sakho and Jose Enrique ahead of the game.

“Glen's been back training and he's felt as good as he's done for a long time. He'll come into the squad. Lucas Leiva is doing well but he's not back in the squad. Jose Enrique has been in America. We're looking to try and put an end to his injuries this season. Sakho is still probably a week or so away.”

Liverpool striker Luis Suarez wants to pay back the fans who have stood by him during difficult spells at the club. The Uruguayan is in arguably the best form of his career following a rocky start to life at Anfield.

“I know I can achieve my dreams here. The fans have helped me so much. Everyone knows that I had some difficult times last summer. But they have always supported me and always had confidence in me. I really feel that support in my heart,” he told the Daily Post.

Liverpool midfielder Jordan Henderson believes his side’s home form makes them an intimidating opponent for any side. Liverpool have secured some big wins at Anfield this season such as against Manchester United and Arsenal.

“I think now, nobody wants to come to Anfield. It’s a fortress, really,” he told the Liverpool website.

In transfer news, TalkSport has suggested there is still hope for Liverpool in their pursuit of Sevilla star Ivan Rakitic. The player’s brother, also his agent, has said there’s no agreement with the Spanish club over a new deal.

“Is everything done for the renewal of his contract? No, there is still no [new] contract. We're talking, of course, but nothing is decided yet. We are in contract with the club, but I emphasise that there is still no news,” Dejan Rakitic told TMW.

TalkSport has also suggested that Liverpool could re-visit their interest in another Sevilla star, Federico Fazio. The centre back only renewed his contract with the side last summer but has a €10 million buy-out clause which has attracted interest from Liverpool, Everton and Arsenal from the Premier League.

One player who is leaving the club is teenage winger Jordon Ibe. Ibe will play for Birmingham on loan over the rest of the season as he looks to gain extra first team exposure.

In other news, TV pundit Paul Merson has backed Liverpool to demolish Swansea City at Anfield this weekend. The Sky Sports figure has suggested Liverpool will produce a big 4-0 win, to put pressure on those around them.

Former Liverpool star Jan Molby has said there’s no reason for the club to dwell on last weekend’s FA Cup defeat at the hands of Arsenal as they prepare to play Swansea this weekend.

“If you look at how Brendan Rodgers and his team have dealt with disappointments this season they always move on quickly. It’s a really positive camp and I don’t see that painful defeat at The Emirates being an issue,” he wrote in the Liverpool Echo.
