Chelsea morning news: Mourinho to sign 40-year-old? Spurs looking at Chelsea loan star

A round up of news stories this morning about Chelsea.

The Metro has claimed that Jose Mourinho is interested in signing veteran Inter Milan star Javier Zanetti.

The 40-year-old skipper is out of contract with the Serie A giants at the end of the season and it would be a remarkable decision from the Stamford Bridge club.

Mourinho and Zanetti worked alongside each other during the Portuguese coach’s time at the San Siro club.

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly planning an approach for on loan Chelsea youngster Patrick Bamford.

Bamford has been in good form for loan side Derby County, which has seemingly triggered Spurs into planning a swoop for the youngster.

However, despite the report in the Metro, the 20-year-old still has three years left to run on his Chelsea contract.

Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba could shortly be on his way to play in the MLS in the United States.

The Seattle Sounders and the New York Red Bulls are both reportedly interested in signing him from current side Galatasaray.

According to the Evening Standard, Seattle have already offered him a deal to join them.
