Kaka still believes in Milan's chances

AC Milan were beaten 1-0 by Atletico Madrid at San Siro last night but Brazilian star Kaka hasn't given up hope of progressing.

AC Milan were outsiders as they faced Spanish side Atletico Madrid in the last 16 of the Champions League and they fell to a 1-0 defeat despite battling impressively.

Diego Costa did the damage with a late header but prior to that Milan had the better chances in a close game.

Andrea Poli and Kaka both saw attempts tipped on to the bar by Atletico goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois and the Rossoneri could count themselves somewhat unlucky to ship an 83rd-minute decider.

Milan now face an uphill task if they are to overcome that deficit in Spain, but Kaka maintains that all is not lost.

"This defeat left a bitter taste in the mouth because we played well and didn't deserve to lose," Kaka told Mediaset Premium.

"But we saw that we can do it and in the return leg we have to go out there with great belief.

"If one of the two efforts that hit the woodwork had gone in then we'd have been looking at a very different game.

"The second leg will be tough as Atletico are a good team and the crowd will be passionate but we can go there and score and win."
