A select round-up of news relating to Manchester United

Much has been written about Juan Mata’s comments that Manchester United can still make the top four come May.

But in the same piece he also said that he believed the game’s top players would still be attracted to the club despite their recent struggles.

In an interview with Canal+ and later published by the Daily Mail, the Spaniard said, “I think this club is at a state of change, but I can tell you that the best players in the world will always arrive.”

The fans will certainly hope so, with his club-record signing a huge step in the right direction.

In other news, Ray Wilkins has revealed that he is suffering from the same condition that threatened Darren Fletcher’s career.

After reportedly being sacked by Fulham, the coach said he is battling ulcerative colitis, a move reportedly taken to dispel unfounded rumours that he had a drinking problem.

Fletcher fought back and is now playing an integral role in the United side once more. And following Wilkins’ revelation it may lead more people to be aware of this condition and the effects it has on those who suffer it.
