Olivier Giroud clarifies apology, trolled by Piers Morgan

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud wants to set the record straight.

After his indiscretions were exposed in a Sunday newspaper, Olivier Giroud made a public apology via Twitter ahead of Arsenal's game with Liverpool.

It had seemed that would be the end of the matter, with Giroud stating he wanted to get back to focusing on his football and family life.

Yet last night, with under 24 hours to go until the Bayern Munich fixture, Giroud took to Twitter to offer a further clarification.

A response from Arsenal supporter Piers Morgan hit the nail on the head with the real concerns of Arsenal supporters.

With Giroud looking woefully out of sorts against Manchester United last week - five shots and none on target - the game after the revelations about his personal life were originally exposed, and his arguably bizarre behaviour with this second apology, there has to be a worry that his head is not in the right place for the crucial fixture.

Instead of focusing fully on Arsenal's tie with Bayern, he appears to be preoccupied. The hope now is that he has got off his chest everything he wanted to say and can move on.

The slightly impressive form of Nicklas Bendtner and Yaya Sanogo gives Arsene Wenger options, but if would still be a huge gamble to drop the French international.
