All the latest news, views and transfer rumours from St. James' Park
The chaos surrounding Newcastle United only continues, as right back Mathieu Debuchy has hinted that he may leave the club in the summer. The French international has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint-Germain, where Yohan Cabaye - who was one of the main reasons that Debuchy left Lille for the Magpies - has just left for.
Debuchy, questioned by French media, said; “PSG? I am here (at Newcastle) until the end of the season and for next year, I do not know", which has set rumours into overdrive about the potential exit of the French international. Debuchy is one of the key players for Newcastle, but as Cabaye's departure showed, a move back to France with an ambitious club like PSG is too hard to turn down.
Another Frenchman who could be set for the St. James' Park exit door is Sylvain Marveaux, with speculation suggesting that he has ordered to train with the Newcastle United youth team after a bust-up with under-fire manager Alan Pardew. The winger has been a bit-part players this season, and is seemingly frustrated at his lack of first team opportunities.
Marveaux and fellow French winger Hatem Ben Arfa were reportedly singled out for criticism by Pardew following Newcastle's shambolic 4-0 home defeat to Tottenham Hotspur last week, and the former Rennes man will surely leave the North East in the summer unless relations between himself and the manager improve.
It seems Pardew is trying to force a number of players out of the club, but it seems that one man who won't be leaving any time soon is out-of-favour striker Papiss Cisse. The Senegalese hitman has struggled to find the back of the net this season, and had been strongly linked with a move to Russian side Rubin Kazan.
This may be a result of the racial abuse that is still deplorably prevalent in Russia, but Cisse reportedly wants to fight for his spot in the Newcastle side and has subsequently turned down a switch to Rubin. A Cisse firing on all cylinders would be of great use to Pardew, but his displays this season would suggest that he is now firmly on the sidelines for the Magpies and will continue to be so.
