Bastille's Chris Wood will be part of BBC Radio Devon on Saturday as he helps commentate on a League Two clash.
Chris Wood may have been looking to the Brit Awards all week, with his band up for four awards. However he may be more excited about the fact he will be making his commentating debut on Saturday. The lifelong Plymouth Argyle fan will be alongside regular commentator Gordon Sparks as Argyle take on Dagenham & Redbridge at Victoria Road.
For many football fans it would be a dream to be able to meet their favourite players and get as close to the action as possible. Bastille's rise to stardom has allowed Chris Wood to realise his dreams.
Obviously the band's success has limited the amount of games he can now get to, but he managed to watch them beat Northampton Town 2-0 earlier this month at the Sixfields Stadium. He got to meet the players and the backroom staff in the changing rooms on this occasion, and on Saturday he will be giving his verdict on their performances.
"Having grown up going to Argyle with my family since I was a young boy, I jumped at the chance to get involved with the team and the broadcasting legend that is Gordon Sparks," Wood told the BBC.
It will also be something new for the long-serving Gordon Sparks who is used to footballers rather than musicians alongside him.
"I have been fortunate enough to have managers and players alongside me, but it will be a first to have someone from the world of entertainment - especially given the popularity of Bastille," said Sparks.
Hopefully it will be an entertaining game for Wood; there could be some Bad Blood between the players but he will hope to be Overjoyed come the final whistle.
