Tottenham latest: Kane anticipates tough Europa test; more Prandelli links

A selection of the latest news surrounding Tottenham Hotspur Football Club this Wednesday evening

Tottenham are in Europa League action tomorrow night against Dnipro in Ukraine for their last-32 knockout match and striker Harry Kane is anticipating a tough tie.

He told the club’s website: ‘We know Dnipro is a tough place to go and we can expect a difficult match. But we’ve got to stay in the right frame of mind and get the job done.

‘We want to get as far as we can in this competition, so everyone is looking forward to the game on Thursday.’

The game is definitely on in Ukraine despite political unrest in the country but UEFA are reportedly monitoring the situation. The location of the game is 220 miles away from Kiev where much of the unrest has taken place.

In other news, there are more rumours about the future of Erik Lamela, with Inter Milan thought to be prepared to take the Argentinian back to Serie A in the summer, according to TalkSport.

The report says Inter were interested in Spurs’ record signing in the January window but could not strike a deal, but two high profile players are said to be moving on which could fund any Lamela deal.

Finally, one rumour that does not seem to be going away is the prospect of Cesare Prandelli taking over as the new Tottenham boss.

TalkSport’s Paddy Agnew said on air that Prandelli could even be announced as the new boss before the end of the season.

He was initially linked with the post after the sacking of Andre Villas-Boas, but Tim Sherwood took over as Head Coach – which has seen an upturn in form that has put Spurs in the mix for a Champions League place.
