Lukas Podolski was overlooked by Arsenal against Bayern to the dismay of his former teammate.
Last year he was scoring against his former club, this time he had to make do with watching from the sidelines.
Arsene Wenger decided to leave him on the bench despite his goal against Liverpool in the FA Cup.
With the Gunner forced into two early changes, with Nacho Monreal and Lukasz Fabianski on - with Arsenal chasing the game in the second half they had just one substitution left.
When Tomas Rosicky was brought on in the 74th minute, the decision sparked an angry tweet from former Gunner Emmanuel Frimpong, bemoaning Podolski being overlooked.
What has Podolski got to do to get a bloody game— Emmanuel Frimpong (@IAMFRIMPONG26) February 19, 2014
German international Podolski is one of the most popular players at Arsenal and held in high esteem by his teammates.
Frimpong was sold to Barnsley on deadline day where he managed to get himself sent off on his debut.
It wouldn't be a surprise to see Wenger change it up in the second leg and give Podolski a run out, but sooner or later he deserves a run in the side, as he just can't get a string of consecutive starts together to truly prove his worth to his manager.
