Wenger: No fresh injury worries, Rosicky will come back in

Arsene Wenger revealed his squad has a clean bill of health heading into the Champions League game against Bayern Munich.

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says his side are in better mental shape than when they faced Bayern Munich last season.

The Frenchman was speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the last 16 first leg Champions League game against Bayern Munich and he also revealed the Gunners are determined to keep a clean sheet.

“Last year we went out on the away goal, that shows it's important not to concede at home. I think we are in a better mental shape than last year. We are determined to win this game,” said the Frenchman.

Wenger also spoke about team news ahead of the game, which is positive if you’re an Arsenal fan with Tomas Rosicky coming back in and no fresh injury worries.

“All the players have recovered well from Sunday. There are no new injuries, Rosicky will come back in.”

Arsenal were always going to play on how they performed against Bayern Munich in this game last season, losing the first leg badly before fighting back to nearly steal the tie away in Germany.

That’s something Wenger has revealed has given the side a boost of confidence and the belief that they can pull off a win with few giving them any hope.

“We have a strong team spirit that is for sure, we have a united team and we have a stronger belief now,” he added.

Wenger defended, and praised, Arsenal's defensive duo of Per Mertesacker and Laurent Koscielny who responded well to the drubbing against Liverpool in the FA Cup against the same side.

"[Mertesacker and Koscielny] have developed very well and their statistics show that. They have a chance to prove it again tomorrow. For tomorrow's game, it's nearly impossible to play without style because of the quality of both teams."
