Arsenal morning news: Ramsey injury boost; Ribery back in training

All the latest news and gossip from The Emirates Stadium this morning.

Aaron Ramsey has reportedly earmarked the game with Chelsea next month for his comeback from injury. The Welshman, who was arguably the Gunners best player at the start of the season, has been out with a thigh injury since Boxing Day.

It is reported that his most recent scans have given him the all clear over the severity of the injury and the game with title rivals Chelsea on the 22nd March is now in his diary as the day he aims to return to action.

Arsenal are expected to ring the changes from the side that took on Liverpool in the FA Cup at the weekend - as they prepare themselves to take on the juggernaut that is Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud, Wojciech Szczesny, Bacary Sagna and Tomas Rosicky are all expected to return to the starting line-up - however there are question marks over whether Nacho Monreal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Lukas Podolski might have done enough to maintain a starting position for the crunch Champions League tie.

Mathieu Flamini has been speaking about the upcoming tie - and seems to believe Arsenal are more than capable of toppling their Bundesliga rivals:

"We know it won't be an easy game because Bayern are a strong, strong team but we are Arsenal, we have big ambitions and if we want to qualify we want to produce a big result against them. We'll do everything, we'll try to play our best football and get a good result.”

Bayern Munich have received a boost ahead of the tie - as Franck Ribery returned to training yesterday.

The French winger had surgery on a burst blood vessel in his buttock earlier in the month and was expected to be out of both games against the Gunners.

However, while the game this week might have come too soon, he should be fit for the Allianz return.
