Arsenal latest: Wenger on 'united team' and Remy move mooted

All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates Stadium.

Arsene Wenger has been speaking ahead of the Champions League clash against Bayern Munich tomorrow.

It will be a year to the day since Wenger watched his side taken apart by Bayern at The Emirates in a 3-1 defeat.

And the Frenchman believes that the Gunners are in better shape for the game:

"We are in a much better mental shape than one year ago. We know we face the favourites of the competition. We have a strong team spirit, a strong desire to do well and a united team. I believe we always had these qualities but not always the belief, which is built by results and on that we are stronger for sure."

In terms of team news there are no major new injury problems ahead of the game. Mikel Arteta is suspended - so Tomas Rosicky replaces him in the squad.

Bayern Munich are expected to be without Franck Ribery and Xerdan Shaqiri.

Arsenal are again being linked with a hijack of Newcastle United’s transfer plans - with a reported move for Loic Remy on the cards.

The French international is currently on loan at St James Park from Loftus Road and is expected to leave his parent club in the summer if they fail in their promotion bid.

And Wenger now seems to be eyeing up a £9 million move for the player.

Arsenal’s FA Cup tie against Everton has been moved forward due to TV coverage. The tie on the 8th March has been moved to 12:45 to form part of ITV’s coverage of the competition.

Arsenal are expected to ring the changes from the side that took on Liverpool in the FA Cup at the weekend - as they prepare themselves to take on the juggernaut that is Bayern Munich on Wednesday night.

Jack Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, Kieran Gibbs, Olivier Giroud, Wojciech Szczesny, Bacary Sagna and Tomas Rosicky are all expected to return to action.
