Tottenham Hotspur morning news: Which midfielder rejected the chance to leave Spurs last month?

A round up of news stories this morning about Tottenham Hotspur.

Spurs winger Nacer Chadli reportedly rejected the chance to play regular football away from the club.

The Metro has claimed that the Belgian turned down a January loan move to another club, with Swansea City heavily linked with him from the Premier League.

“I had to make a decision and my decision was to stay. Everything was not clear so I wanted to stay at Tottenham and play for my club. I have signed for five years and I’m happy,” he said.

Spurs midfielder Christian Eriksen says he’s enjoying life in the English capital.

The 22-year-old Dane only joined the club last summer from Ajax but he’s settled in quickly, featuring in 23 Premier League games so far this season for the club.

“London is such a big city, it's great to be here and where I live is really nice, the people as well. There is always something to do. If I ever get bored, I'll take a drive around the neighbourhood, see what's going on,” he told Tottenham’s website.

On loan Tottenham midfielder Lewis Holtby is preparing for a hellish training schedule under new Fulham boss Felix Magath.

Magath has a wide reputation for intense physical training which has earned him the nickname ‘the torturer’ from some of his former players.

“I have never trained so hard as under Felix Magath. However, I profited from this very much at the beginning of my professional career,” Holtby told Bild.
