PSG owner discusses likelihood of Messi or Ronaldo purchases

Nasser Al Khelaifi has stated that he is not obsessed with bringing the star duo to the Parc des Princes.

Since being bought over by the Qatari Investment authority, Paris Saint-German have spent hundreds of millions on bringing some of the best players in the world to the French capital.

Due to the financial means available to the current Ligue 1 leaders, they have been constantly linked with audacious moves to sign both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.

However, owner Nasser Al Khelaifi has come clean about the speculation, and stated that neither of the supremely talented pair will be moving to PSG anytime soon.

"The media believe that we want Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo. It's good for the media but it is not good for the clubs. It is not good for Real Madrid or Barcelona or us," he told Spanish newspaper Sport.

"Messi and Cristiano are at home in Barcelona and Madrid. I respect these two clubs and have a good relationship with their presidents.

“I respect them a lot. If I were looking for a player from either of the two clubs I would go talk to the president.

"Messi and Cristiano are happy in their clubs. And I respect that."

Messi seems destined to play at Camp Nou for the entirety of his career, with the Argentine continually breaking records at the club.

Ronaldo’s future was in doubt at the Santiago Bernabeu, but the former Manchester United star penned a new Madrid deal in the summer.
