Manchester United's new number 8 has been writing about the club's training camp in Dubai.
While many of their domestic rivals were taking part in FA Cup fifth-round action, the Manchester United squad were in Dubai for warm weather training.
Some of the players had already posted pictures on their Instagram accounts but Juan Mata went one better this morning, when he took to his blog to give the latest insight into life as a United player.
“This kind of break always helps to make the group even stronger and to switch off a bit from the different competitions and the tight schedule,” he wrote.
“Also, it’s amazing to see how many fans the club has around the world.”
Having only arrived at the club from Chelsea last month, the Spaniard also revealed that trips such as the one he is currently enjoying help him learn more about the squad and its ethos.
“Personally, these days are good for me to settle even more into the team and share these moments with my teammates,” he said.
“And also, obviously, to train hard and get used to the new working patterns after just three weeks in the club.”
Mata also revealed his thoughts on United’s last game prior to their trip – the 0-0 draw with Arsenal.
“It’s not a bad result, but the truth is we had chances to win and that is what we need,” Mata wrote
“That’s what we’re working for, now that the end of the season is approaching. The positive thing is that the team did good in defence and we didn’t concede a goal.”
With the games running out this campaign, Mata and his teammates will be hoping to go on a much-needed good run if they want to have any chance of securing Champions League football next season.
