Tottenham latest: Adebayor 'has always been a top player' and Sandro injury boost

Emmanuel Adebayor

A selection of the latest stories involving Tottenham Hotspur this Monday evening

Younes Kaboul has said that Emmanuel Adebayor will perform at his best if he has the trust of his manager.

Adebayor has been in terrific form ever since Tim Sherwood succeeded Andre Villas-Boas as Head Coach in December, and Kaboul has told the Evening Standard that if someone has confidence in the striker he will give everything in return.

Kaboul said: ‘If you give confidence to someone like Ade, he will repay you so much more. He will give you the best, and that is what is happening now. Every player can always do better, but he is performing very well and we need him.

‘The thing with Emmanuel is that he has always been a top player. He has always been up there, and he is not someone I have ever seen as an average player.’

Tottenham could receive a fitness boost ahead of their Europa League last 32 tie against Dnipro with Sandro set to make his return from injury according to TalkSport.

The Brazilian has been absent since Spurs’ defeat to Liverpool in December, with the midfielder suffering both hamstring and calf injuries.

He played for 51 minutes in the under-21’s 5-2 defeat against Bolton Wanderers where Spurs threw away a two-goal lead.

Souleymane Coulibaly and Shaq Coulthirst got the goals for Spurs which seemingly put them in control before they threw away their lead in the final quarter of the match.
