Arsenal morning news: Gunners to rival United with interest in €50 Frenchman?

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

The Gunners have been linked with a big money summer move for former Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba.

Reports which originate in The Mail are suggesting that Arsenal could be in line to make a €50 million offer to Juventus for the 20-year-old Frenchman.

Pogba could be bought with roughly a third of the £150 million Arsenal are thought to have available to spend on players.

Arsenal are also being linked with a possible £12 million swoop for on loan Newcastle United striker Loic Remy.

Remy was thought to be against a permanent switch to Newcastle from QPR last month, preferring to wait until the summer.

That could allow the Gunners to lodge an official bid for him as Arsene Wenger looks to add firepower to his attack.

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud apologised for cheating on his wife over Twitter.

The Sunday papers picked up on the possibility of an affair between the Frenchman and a glamour model which he later Tweeted an apology for.

“I apologise to my wife, family and friends and my manager, team-mates and Arsenal fans,” read his Tweet.
