Referee Howard Webb saw the incident but did not call a foul, and Arsenal went onto win the game.
Liverpool had been awarded a penalty minutes earlier which Steven Gerrard converted, and a second would certainly have swung the momentum in the visitor's favour.
Webb later could easily have sent off Steven Gerrard for a second bookable offence, but two wrong decisions do not make a right...
