Christian Eriksen has been speaking to Tottenham Hotspur’s official website about his time in Denmark, his early experiences as a Spurs player and now – in the second part of the interview – the rivalry with Arsenal.
The Danish play-maker was part of the Spurs squad who lost 2-0 to Arsenal in the FA Cup third-round back in January, only to be crowned his country’s Player of the Year just 24 hours later.
When asked about those times, Eriksen said, “It’s new for me, the rivalry against Arsenal. In a few years, I’ll get more and more emotion and how much you want to beat Arsenal.
“In terms of the Danish award, I had that prize before, so I kind of knew about it, but it’s still special. I’m glad I got it again.”
Eriksen also said how much he was enjoying living in London.
“I like it here,” he said. “You walk down the street and not really get recognised.”
But if he keeps improving for Spurs and becomes the player many feel he is destined to become, he may have to get used to being recognised in England almost as much as in his homeland.
