PICTURE: Arsenal and Man United target Papadopoulos starts fight in Schalke training

Premier League transfer target Kyriakos Papadopoulos was involved in a scuffle during FC Schalke training.

Arsenal, Liverpool and Manchester United linked Kyriakos Papadopoulos will be in hot water with FC Schalke this morning after getting involved in a fight with Kevin-Prince Boateng during training.

The 21-year-old Greek defender is well known for having a fiery temper and things boiled over when Boateng challenged Papadopoulos following an aggressive challenge on teammate Jefferson Farfan.

Papadopoulos has been suggested as a Premier League target for his quick progression into top flight domestic and international football, showing the sort of consistency in defence which any top flight boss looks for in a potential signing.

However, he’s often been involved in scuffles, challenging teammates when they don’t pull their weight or in this case, going over the top with an overly physical challenge.

One of the most famous scenes involving the Schalke defender in a similar incident happened when he confronted teammate Georgios Samaras during a Greece match, prompting the striker to grab him by the throat.

If there is physical Premier League interest in him then those scouting him won’t be impressed by this latest incident.
