Chelsea morning news: Courtois happy to return, PSG in fresh link with David Luiz

A round up of this morning’s news stories about Chelsea.

Thibaut Courtois will reportedly tell Chelsea that he’s happy to return to Stamford Bridge on one condition.

The £25 million rated Belgian is thought to want a guarantee that he will be the number one at the club.

“We have a meeting with Chelsea and we will be talking about everything with them. It is too early to make a definite decision yet. We have to negotiate with Chelsea. Thibaut has been doing very well with Atletico but there are still three months of the season to go, and a lot can happen in that time,” his father told the Express.

French giants Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined the race to sign Chelsea defender David Luiz.

News broke during the week that Barcelona were apparently considering another attempt to sign the Brazilian with PSG now coming into the equation.

TalkSport has suggested that PSG will target Luiz with former Blues star Alex set to leave the Paris club at the end of the season.

Winger Mohamed Salah is set to make his first start for Chelsea later today.

The former FC Basel winger moved to the Blues last month when they managed to do a deal for him ahead of Brendan Rodgers’ Liverpool.

Salah is expected to start the FA Cup game against Manchester City with Jose Mourinho keen to rest players ahead of further important matches this month.
