Musa Yahaya is being tipped for a move to Spurs according to reports and has been compared to Barcelona's Brazilian superstar.

Tottenham Hotspur are closing in on the signature of a youngster dubbed the 'Nigerian Neymar' in Musa Yahaya, according to a report from allafrica.com.

Yahaya, who is currently at Nigerian outfit Mutunchi Academy, has been compared to the Barcelona forward for his virtuoso style, possessing flair and raw pace.

The report suggests Yahaya will jet in to London to finalise a deal with Champions League-chasing Spurs and complete what is expected to be a routine medical.

The 16-year-old will be joined by his father, his agent and Auwal Yusuf, the coach of the Mutunchi Academy, who have seen him rise through the ranks from a young age.

He shot to prominence at the FIFA Under-17 World Cup, where he netted four goals in seven appearances to attract admiring glances from a host of European clubs, with Spurs' North London rivals Arsenal and Ajax also credited with an interest in Yahaya.

Due to his age, he is unable to pen a professional contract at his new club until December 2015 on his 18th birthday, which may allow major European vultures to circle on the prodigy.

The report claims Spurs have a deal in place for when he turns 18 which will see him tied to the club for four years.
