Mohamed Salah to make first Chelsea start v City?

Surely Mohamed Salah make his first start for Chelsea at the weekend?

Chelsea take on Manchester City at the Etihad at the weekend in the FA Cup, and Jose Mourinho is already indicating he will be varying his team selection.

The Blues appeared tired in midweek as the game went on at West Brom, with recent star man Nemanja Matic fading as the game went on, while superstar Eden Hazard never really got going.

It's time to mix things up, and begin resting certain players ahead in preparation for the Blues fixtures with Galatasaray in the Champions League later in the month.

The Mirror reported that Ramires, Eden Hazard, Oscar, Nemanja Matic and Samuel Eto'o could all be rested, while new signing Mohamed Salah is likely to earn a first start.

Salah was Chelsea's second signing f the transfer window after Matic, but unlike the Serbian, has barely featured since arrival.

Salah, 21, came onto make his debut against Newcastle for the final 12 minutes at Stamford Bridge last weekend, replacing Willian on the right, and against West Brom he was brought on for Ramires in the final minute as Chelsea desperately searched for a winner.

While the FA Cup has an importance, Mourinho will know he has just as much to lose putting out his first choice team as he would be rotating players, and in new signing Salah, he has a potential gem waiting to show it's worth.

His best position is on the right of attack, meaning the in-form Willian would have to make way too, while Andre Schurrle will likely get a start on the left in place of Hazard.

The big game won't intimidate Salah, he has already played in the Champions League this season and scored twice against Chelsea.

This time he's a weapon they have working for them rather than against, and will look to exploit expected opposing full-back Aleksandr Kolarov. Priced at a solid 12/1 to score the first goal, he may just prove to be a shrewd bet to make a sudden impact.
