Following Manchester United's 0-0 draw with Arsenal at the Emirates on Wednesday night, manager David Moyes believes club record signing Juan Mata has been the champions' best player since he arrived in January.
The Spanish maestro arrived in the January transfer window for £37.5 million from current Premier Keague leaders Chelsea where he had been since 2011 upon arriving from Valencia in his homeland.
"He has played very well - in fact he has probably been our best player in the three games he has played. He has been excellent," the boss said of Mata.
Mata impressed at the Emirates before being substituted in the 75th minute and replaced by Adnan Januzaj. However neither the playmaker nor his replacement could break the deadlock at the Emirates in which the home side accounted for 57% of possession in a game that was evenly matched for the most part and dominated in by a battle in midfield.
"I just felt, with twenty minutes to go I wanted to see if Adnan could come on and cause a different sort of problem."
The clash saw the return to the Emirates of former Gunners captain Robin van Persie who came closest to opening the scoring were it not for a superb save from Arsenal goalkeeper Wojceich Szczesny.
