Arsenal morning news: Balotelli's agent to meet with Gunners over move?

A round up of news stories this morning about Arsenal.

Sportmediaset has suggested Arsenal are about to step up plans to sign controversial striker Mario Balotelli.

The Italian forward is being valued at around £25 million as the Gunners hunt a high profile centre forward to come into the side.

Balotelli’s agent will reportedly meet with the London club to discuss his potential return to England in the summer.

Arsene Wenger says Arsenal could have pinched the points following a 0-0 draw against Manchester United.

The Gunners were held by the champions but didn’t lose ground on Chelsea, who drew on Tuesday night, or Manchester City, with their game at the Etihad called off.

“I think overall we could have won it but it was a game of very few chances. Our defensive focus was extreme because we conceded so many goals on Saturday and they were focused on defending also,” he told BT Sport.

The agent of Arsenal youngster Joel Campbell has cast doubt over a return to the club for the striker.

Campbell is currently on loan with Greek side Olympiakos until the end of the season where he’s been enjoying regular first team football.

“His future at the moment is a matter of discussion between the two clubs – He would not be happy sitting on the bench, even at a big club,” Joaquim Batica told Tutto Mercato.
